Science Study Reveals Global Warming Is The Top Current Environmental Issue

According to an MIT study, U.S. citizens now say global warming is the top current environmental issue.

When I saw this study I was very encouraged because I started ACoolerClimate.com in the hopes of organizing large numbers of people to take collective action on important environmental and social issues to transform society for the better.

However, I knew if the site I started wasn't focused on the right issue, my efforts would be in vain.

After seeing this research study does it make you think differently about global warming?

Do you think global warming's current position as the number one environmental issue can serve as a rallying point for environmentally minded people to form a serious mass movement?

Please share your thoughts and insights below.

Adios,

Nathan Brown

What other environmental issue could even compare to global warming? . .

This is a load of BS! Global warming is just a scam! God..

Your a fucking idiot russel. Science doesn't have to prove that human actions contribute to global warming. Isn't it just common sense? With all of the SUV's and power plants and factories sending tons of emissions into the air on a daily basis, don't you think that it may have a negative effect on the environment?

It amazes me how people like russell can be extremley ignorant. And believe me, there are plenty of them out there.

As a teenager, I am worried about global warming. I do not think it matters whether we started it or not; What matters is that we at least try to prevent things from getting any worse. If we know that something is wrong, we should do something about it; try to protect and save the next generation. There is nothing wrong in trying to make the world a better place. Together, we can make this work! Thank you for your website. Keep it up!

The funny thing is how many people are so quick to try to dissprove global warming. I truly believe it is a way to absolve themselves from guilt, in other words a way to keep them from having to face a problem and take action. So they argue that its not real and we cant affect it.

My response to this is, lets not talk about global warming lets talk about pollution... We all know pollution is real, we can see it, smell it and even tase it. If anyone has gone to a big city, then know pollution is a real problem (smog). So, lets do what we can to stop pollution. This is something we can affect, I mean there wasnt smog before big cities right Russell? So this "pollution" is something we can face and change because we caused it.

Yes, global warming should be a big concern after all this is where we live. I hope you are able to keep your site up because it may make others aware and maybe they will do something to help the situation. If people or governments would spend money to find a way to cut out burning to produce energy the battle would be over. I can find no one that will spend time or money on a real solution. I have found a way to produce electricity and torque with out burning anything. With physical devices that I have shown to Universities and other people, they conducted test and could not disprove my claims. I am looking for people and or money to help me develop the technology I have discovered. Not only will it help with global warming, it will also help us understand how and what makes the universe work the way it does. Good luck with your endeavor and if you want more information about this technology www.energy-ingenuity.com Steve

I agree with Malcolm about unfortunate Russell and also his comments about your site, Nathan, prospering. I am not surprised at the result of the MIT survey. Clearly Global Warming is the most important Environmental issue we face today. For me it is The most important Issue, bar none. After all if half of the effects that are talked about under the 'business as usual' model come true then even terrorism pales into insignificance (although still hugely important). We have seen the majority og governments in the world take global warming seriously. It is time the laggard governments (in particular yours (the US) and mine (Australia)) got with the program.

What is laughable is the ease with which many like Russell are taken in. There is no doubt about the dangerous increase in Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere and the ocean caused by man, however much we discuss the extent of the damage in the details of ice caps, glaciers, storms, coral, drought, permafrost, Gulf Stream, etc.

Well done Nathan for starting your web site. May it prosper.

I have gathered quite a few facts on u3aclimatestudy.pbwiki.com
You might like to help me build it as a resource or link to it.

Best wishes,

Malcolm

The most important thing that people who are concerned about anthropomorphic global warming can do is just stop exhaling! Seriously, the idea that humanity can affect the earth's climate one way or the other is laughable. Our science can not yet determine whether our actions are making the climate warmer or only slowing our advance toward the next ice age. The only thing we know for sure is that our environment will always be changing, and we need to use our brains to deal with those changes.
